|| Soshan manages the life insurance and savings product development process for Old Mutual across Africa and Latin America. He is involved in international financial inclusion initiatives with a focus on financial literacy development and microinsurance in Africa. Soshan serves as a board director of two Old Mutual companies in Swaziland and as a venture leader for Blue Marble Microinsurance, a collaborative initiative across nine global insurers to bring insurance protection to underserved markets. As the leader of Blue Marble’s Africa Agriculture venture, Soshan leads the team that has launched a weather-index based crop insurance programme in Zimbabwe that uses satellite data to insure smallholder farmers against drought.
Soshan is a qualified Time To Think Facilitator and he teaches people how Time To Think leadership behaviours create workplaces that help people generate fresh, independent thinking for business success. He is especially interested in creating profitable, scalable businesses through innovation in education, social development and protecting the planet. He also serves as a Board member of the South African Mathematics Foundation.
Soshan is an actuary (Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa since 2008). He holds a BBusSc degree and a PgDip diploma from the University of Cape Town and has majored in Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science.
