I am a coach, non-executive director and columnist.
I have experienced the exhilaration of success, and the disappointment of setbacks and failures. I know the value of a learning mindset, self awareness and inclusive leadership and the dragging effect of a team that is not working well together.
It comes from having spent over 25 years leading change in FTSE 100 companies, marketing consultancies and the charity sector.
I am passionate about supporting and encouraging the next generation of leaders as they grapple with the big challenges of purposeful leadership, responsible business, climate change, inclusive cultures and the common good.
I put my own understanding and experience of business and inclusive leadership to good use through my coaching.
My time as Chair of Stonewall involved me moving the equality organisation from campaigning solely for lesbian, gay and bisexual people to include trans people as well as actively addressing racism in the queer communities. I was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by The Kaleidoscope Trust for services to human rights and social justice.
My work as a marketing leader has been recognised with The Drum Lifetime Achievement Award and Honorary Fellowships from The Marketing Society and Institute of Practitioners in advertising.
I continue to hold senior leadership roles as non-executive Chair of Given, PAMCo and Utopia, and sit on the CMI Race Equity Committee.
I have held numerous marketing leadership positions working with companies ranging from Aviva, BT and British Gas to Diageo and Unilever. I founded my own successful marketing consultancy, BLUEdOOR, and became a partner in another, antennae.
I am a regular columnist for The Media Leader.
