I leapt happily and completely into coaching and mentoring from a career as a HR Professional (Ch.FCIPD) and continue to be excited, exhilarated and developmentally rewarded by working with all the amazing people I have the privilege of working with. I set up Bluesky in 2000 and rebranded to Bluesky International in 2009 as my work expanded into leadership development (MBA) and working in countries outside of the UK. Becoming a member of the EMCC gave me the amazing opportunity of contributing to the emerging profession of coaching and supervision by helping to create the accreditations for coach | mentoring training programmes and individual accreditation of coaches | mentors and supervisors. I’ve done my best to role model the work of this professional body by gaining the EQA and ESQA for the BI coach and supervision training programmes and personal accreditation for my practices as an executive coach (EMCC EIA Master Coach) and coach supervisor (EMCC ESIA). What an invaluable opportunity I had in learning more about cultural diversity and to continue contributing to the profession as EMCC International President from 2011-2017 and now as EMCC International Special Ambassador. Other voluntary roles that keep me busy are mentoring and supervising people new to coaching and sometimes working in difficult circumstances. I’m currently writing a book based on my doctoral research into feedback and hope that when finished it will be seen as a welcomed contribution to an alternative perspective on people and organisational development
