All our gatherings in work, education and lives are designed for people who speak FIRST, speak FAST, speak LOUD. I was one of those quieter, slower and late contributors. It took me a while to claim my space in a group, feel comfortable to share my thoughts and engage meaningfully in the collective. While covid has pushed us to be better at how we gather, gatherings still in many cases lack the thoughtfulness, the care, the structures and the trust that can create magic.
I find deep meaning in holding spaces for connection, collaboration & co-creation. Since 2013, I have been working with a variety of groups, collectives and organisations to design & facilitate different types of gatherings – team connections; participatory visioning & strategy; engaging events, dialogues & consultations; reflective learning; and nurturing facilitation capacity.
The Thinking Environment connects deeply to my own values of not only how I imagine a space to LOOK like but also how I want to BE as a holder of the space. It aligns beautifully with some of my other influences and it makes a more holistic facilitator and a more whole human being.
