Michelle is a qualified teacher and a trained ASTAR Art facilitator (Awakening Spirit through Art), Lifeline Counsellor, and Time to Think facilitator.
In all these areas of focus, her passion has remained ignited by the idea of creating a nurturing and inspiring environment, in which individuals can develop and flourish into the uniqueness of who they are; and at the same time, form respectful and trusting relationships, both with themselves and with others. Whether it is in the classroom, art studio or Time To Think context, the connecting, creative and transformative possibilities that this process ignites for the individual, and for the group or team, and the sense of general well being it brings, is what continually inspires Michelle’s commitment to her work.
Michelle’s teaching experience has been in a wide variety of schools, both in South Africa and internationally. For the last 10 years, she has been running regular ASTAR Art workshops with adults, and with children, in her Art and Soul studio in Cape Town.
Michelle also freelances as an ASTAR Art Facilitator and Time To Think Facilitator, designing customized workshops, using either or both of these facilitation approaches. Her experience stretches across the private and public sectors, and includes work with private groups, schools, universities and Not-for-Profit organizations. Areas of focus have included team building; creative thinking and expression; leadership development; integrating head & heart learning; and also the Time To Think theory and its applications.
